Carol Prantner graduated from the Kwantlen Fashion program in 1982.  With her education, training and entrepreneurial spirit, Carol (an avid cyclist) and her partner, David Hollands, founded Sugoi Performance Apparel.

Led by Prantner and Hollands, the company grew from two to over 200 employees. Sugoi became synonymous with proprietary technologies in performance athletic wear. The company grew to have a well-recognized brand, a loyal dealer network, an online store and a customer base that spanned four continents. In 2005, Sugoi merged with Cannondale and Carol left the company last year to pursue the next phase of her life. Carol Prantner has continued to maintain a strong commitment to Kwantlen and its Fashion program.

Over the years, she employed numerous Kwantlen graduates. She served on Kwantlen’s Fashion Advisory Committee—where she actively contributed to curriculum, particularly in high-tech fabrics and advanced production techniques, and she has volunteered her time and talent—as well as that of her employees—to provide unique industry experiences for current Kwantlen Fashion students.
